No need for set scerws, adhesives, knurls, D shafts or nuts when used under recommended loading capacity, and you can employ broader machining tolerances for interference fits. Cut to fit outside a normal circumference, the free state diameter of the ring is open, so that when installed inside a bore the ring will conform and be self retaining. Each inward facing corrugated bump acts like a stiff, radical soring that compresses in proportion to torque of radial load, thereby allowing for a wider dimensional tolerance of mating diameters. These frictional fasteners assemle quickly and provide retention to securely mount bearings and other components inside a bore, while compensating for small amounts of misalignment and thermal expansion. No need for set scerws, adhesives, knurls, D shafts or nuts when used under recommended loading capacity, and you can employ broader machining tolerances for interference fits. Cut to fit outside a normal circumference, the free state diameter of the ring is open, so that when installed inside a bore the ring will conform and be self retaining. Each inward facing corrugated bump acts like a stiff, radical soring that compresses in proportion to torque of radial load, thereby allowing for a wider dimensional tolerance of mating diameters.
